Levels Of Care

Individualized service plans are developed from an initial assessment of the individual’s needs. From this initial assessment, a thorough package of services is developed. Periodic reviews of these plans are conducted to ensure their accuracy and thoroughness. The following services and amenities are included in the monthly rent:

  • Three meals a day
  • Nutritional snacks available daily
  • Weekly housekeeping
  • Weekly linen & towel service
  • Emergency response kits in each room
  • Planned social activities
  • Monthly health status reviews
  • Community educational programs
  • One personal night-check
  • Supervised medication administration
  • Access to nursing staff 24-hours per day

Level 1 & Level 2

Brighter Living’s levels of care build upon the one before it. For instance, Level 1 care includes all of the services of the Basic Level, plus Level 1 services. Level 2 includes all of the services included at both the Basic and Level 1, plus additional Level 2 services.

Level 1 Services:

Includes all of the services in the Basic Service Package, plus:

  • Supervised medication management for regular medications and residents with insulin-dependent diabetes
  • Supervision with personal care
  • Two personal “night-checks”
  • Routine reminders for basic activities

Level 2 Services:

Includes all of the services in the Basic and Level 1 Service Packages, plus:

  • Medication management
  • Extensive reminders for basic activities
  • Escort service to meals and activities
  • Personal care support (i.e., physical assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting)
  • Manageable incontinence support
  • Daily housekeeping, as needed

Transitional & Respite Services

Transitional Services*

Brighter Living’s Transitions Program meets the needs of individuals who require additional temporary support after leaving a hospital or nursing home.

Respite Services

Brighter Living offers respite care to families or individuals needing the opportunity for relief from the daily stress of being a caregiver. As part of the Transitional and Respite Programs, Brighter Living offers the following services:

  • Short-term placements
  • Home-like studio living environment with refrigerator and microwave
  • 24-hour emergency services
  • Personal care assistance
  • Elegant meals in our dining room
  • Nightly safety checks
  • Daily activities
  • In-house rehabilitation services
  • Supervised medication administration
  • Housekeeping Services

*Transitional program rates are the same as long-term placement rates. Furniture rental is available for stays over 30 days depending on furniture availability

Additional Services

Additional Services Not Included in Basic, Level 1, or Level 2 Care Plans

  • Guest meals ($7.00/meal)
  • Medical care supplies (cost based on use; cost added to monthly bill)
  • Costs associated with trips/excursions (cost can be added to bill)
  • All personal medications (arranged through pharmacy)
  • Beauty salon services (can be added to monthly bill)
  • Personal telephone service (resident arranges through telephone company)
  • Cable television ($27.00/month through Brighter Living $13.50 for semi private)
  • Personal local transportation ($35.00 round trip; based on availability; 48-hour notice required)
  • Personal laundry services ($63.00/month; cost added to monthly bill)

Dining

Proper nutrition is a primary concern of our residents. Our cooks prepare meals that do not contain sweets and are low in sodium. In addition, we are able to accommodate any special diets required by our residents.

Dining is about more than just food. A meal together is a social experience that can bring enjoyment and satisfaction to our residents. Our beautifully decorated dining room helps to promote a wonderful dining experience. Brighter Living focuses on all aspects of our residents’ dining experience: nutrition, socialization, and service.

Each month the Administrator or Director of Food and Beverage meet with the residents to review the menu. Residents’ vote and determine which food items remain and which are to be removed to improve the residents’ dining experience.

Families and residents also have the opportunity to dine in our private dining room for special family functions.

Transportation

Brighter Living residents enjoy the freedom of having access to our transportation services. Our comfortable van is operated by courteous, experienced, and professional staff who take pleasure in serving our residents. We provide transportation for scheduled group outings such as shopping, recreation, and dining. Our Activities Director plans special outings every month and residents enjoy the opportunity to help make decisions on where to go next.

Transportation can be scheduled for medical appointments as well for a nominal fee. Transportation can be provided given 48 business hours notice is given to the facility and the facility has a driver available and no other scheduled appointments during that time.

Whether the trip is for business or pleasure, Brighter Living residents get to rediscover the freedom and independence provided by our transportation service.

Crystal Clear Cuts Salon

Crystal Clear Cuts is conveniently located right on-site. We offer many services for the residents such as shampoo & set, hair cut, coloring, highlighting, men’s cuts and shave, manicures and much more. The residents are greeted with a smile and an eagerness to please by our very own Pam Reed. The residents feel at home in this friendly atmosphere. We celebrate customer appreciation for the residents every other month with a drawing to win a free gift basket. This is a big event that the residents look forward to. The winner has his/her picture taken and it is posted in the salon and printed in the Brighter Side newsletter. We also welcome outside customers by appointment only.
